Two films introduce and explain the Jewish laws and relgious obervances of death. “Death and Mourning in the Jewish Tradition” shows the preparations for burial, simplepine coffin, Taharah (washing the body), the role of the Chevra Kadisha and Shomrim (men and women who watch over the body and pray for its soul. “Jewish Death and Mourning” shows the burial, sitting shiva and the need for a tombstone.
